Thrilled to be a part of the 5th edition of the Kips Bay Decorator Show House in Palm Beach this year. Thank you Maryline Damour and Melvin Jones of the design firm Damour Drake for including my alabaster Hanging Planter in your "Toddler's Haven". Such a fun and inspired room showcasing the work of artists and designers from New York's Hudson Valley.
You can see the Show House in person through April 3rd or via a virtual tour. Tickets available at kipsbaydecoratorshowhouse.org. All proceeds benefit regional youth programs.

I love when customers reach out to me. Such was the case in meeting Susan Harrington of the luxury wallpaper company Fromental. A “thank you for subscribing email” prompted a back and forth of other emails, which ultimately led to meeting Susan in person at the Field + Supply Market and later at the Fromental showroom in NYC. Susan is a very dynamic and engaging person and the company that she represents makes the most exquisite wallcoverings. Some are made with artisanal papers and others with silk. All are hand-painted. Their design range is impressive too, from modern abstractions to ornate chinoiserie. What I can tell you upon seeing them first hand is that the quality is truly impeccable. It...
Super excited to have new horn servers in the shop. At 11" long x 3 1/4" wide they work great with most salad bowls and trays. Each set of two spoons is sculpted from sustainably harvested cattle horn that is a byproduct of the meat and leather industry. They are then polished using coconut oil to give them a beautiful luster. I sorted them into 5 separate color groups to ensure that you are able to receive the colors that you like best. Also really excited to have our Horn Votives back in the shop. I sorted these into 5 color groups as well. Note that they are different from the server colors. Yeah...horn works like that. The image above...
It was a big honor to be a part of the Kingston Design Showhouse again this past year. One of the things that was different about this one was the partnership that was established with affordable housing advocate Kingston City Land Bank to renovate an existing home in dire need of repair and make it available below market value to a first-time homeowner earning 80% or less of the area median income. Maryline Damour, founder of Kingston Design Connection, the organization that runs the Kingston Design Showhouses, was quoted in Architectural Digest Pro as saying “It’s the type of partnership that I’d love to see show houses across the country imitate”. Aside from adding accessibility to her vision, “the project...
I made this years ago, inspired by a woman on the NYC subway who had a super chic punk rock style. She was covered with piercings and tattoos, but the thing that caught my attention the most was the peace sign that she had made out of safety pins on the back of her denim jacket. I remember thinking about how artful it looked and also thinking how symbolic the image was...how fragile peace is and how this strong young woman spun it into something edgy and even rebellious just by the way she wore it. Her message seemed to be that peace, however tenuous, is worth fighting for. Couldn't agree more! The past year has not exactly felt calm...
